It's no secret that Montreal has a pet overpopulation problem, especially during this time of year when all of the shelters in the city are heartbreakingly full, with many people abandoning their pets when they move.

In an attempt to combat this, the Montreal SPCA is hosting Operation Adoption, a big adoption event happening this weekend. Their goal is to re-home 100 cats and 20 dogs this Friday and Saturday, so if you've been wanting to get yourself a furry, four legged companion, now's your chance!

Every pet that's up for adoption is already spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations and has a 30 day health guarantee. They're also offering starter kits for all new cat and dog owners, which is a pretty awesome deal.

You can head over there and adopt a dog like this adorable guy, named Haribo.

Or if cats are more your thing, you can go home with this super sweet kitten named Queenie.

Operation Adoption is running from 12:00-8:00 on Friday, and 11:00-5:00 on Saturday at the SPCA (5215 Jean-Talon O) and the SPCA Annex (7314 Mountain Sights).
