The project is being pushed by Leger as part of Montreal's 375th anniversary celebrations in 2017, with the campsite acting as a new hub of outdoor activity, as reported in Journal Métro.
If it happens, there would be a main campsite by the Peel Basin and a floating psuedo-Biosphere addition, both beautifying the otherwise industrial Griffintown.
Dubbed "eco-urban camping" the floating campsite would be an ode to Expo '67 and let nature lovers enjoy the outdoors without having to drive anywhere, and let the rest of us enjoy drinking beer in the woods while remaining in the comfort of the city.
See more at Leger's blog and be sure to check back with us for updates on this very cool project.
