It may have been freezing yesterday in Montreal, but that didn't stop many people from stripping down to their underwear for the annual "no pants metro ride".

What started as a joke by a New York comedy troop has since been adopted by Montrealers and many other cities around the world.

The idea is simple, everyone takes their pants off and rides the metro. 

It's not a protest, and there is no political statement being made. There are no causes to support, no charities to donate to, no petitions to sign, and no one is trying to bring attention to any issues whatsoever. "It is absurdity for absurdity’s sake."
