The orange line has been shut down between Berri-UQAM and Henri-Bourassa, due to a medical emergency. Service is only estimated to pick up again at 12:35, which means that STM passengers will be stranded for at least an hour.

The STM announced in a tweet that the orange line has been shut down due to a medical emergency.

The STM's official wesbite also relates the shutdown, stating that the metro is only expected to reopen after midnight, but this is likely a typo.
In the meantime, a shuttle is running along the path of the shut down section of the orange line.

Service on the rest of the line may slow down as a result.

This is not the first major metro shutdown of the year. There have been numerous instances of metro closures, which have paralysed the sytem for several hours.
Last month, a faulty circuit breaker led to an explosion, which caused a fire underground. Due to this, the blue line was shut for most of the day.
