As winter quickly approaches, Montreal culture undergoes an equally radical transformation.
TL;DR Igloofest will run for three consecutive weekends from January 17th to February 2nd, 2019. Below is the complete lineup. Scroll to the very bottom of the article for a link to the Igloofest website.
Gone are the leisurely picnics of summer and lazy strolls of fall. In the wintertime, everything becomes heightened, colourful, festive, and energized.
In part, this zeal is a way to cope with the debilitating cold of the Montreal winter season.
But the city's young, eager population and party reputation also lend themselves well to the celebratory mood that dominates this time of the year.
Christmas and the New Year hype up the city for the festivals in the coming months.
Of these parties, Igloofest is probably the most famous and anticipated.
Each year, the festival takes over Montreal with an impressive lineup of musicians and DJs. Thousands of people pour through the streets for a chance to attend.
The release of the lineup, therefore, is always an event in itself. So Igloofest enthusiasts will be thrilled to learn that the festival has just unveiled its list of performers for the 2019 edition.
