These Grocery Stores Recently Failed Their Health Inspections By The City Of Montreal

Is your local store on the list?

Health inspections play an important role in keeping customers safe. Health inspectors will go around and inspect every aspect of an establishment that prepares and serves food, making sure that not one spec of dust is out of place.

Of course, establishments can be fined for a whole array of things, from the mundane (food kept at the wrong temperature) to the disgusting (presence of rodents or insects).

The results of health inspections are made public, and they can be found on the city of Montreal's website here. Records are put online when a judgement has been passed, usually about a year after the initial infraction is handed out.

It's not just restaurants that undergo health inspections. Grocery stores, among other institutions, also must submit to health inspections. The following list of grocery stores had a judgement date in the last four months and had had to pay a fine for failing their health inspections.
