You're probably already well aware what stores, markets, or services are going to be closed during the holidays, but a reminder is always a good thing. This can be a stressful and confusing time of year.

Keep in mind, most places are open Christmas Eve: the post office, banks, SAQ, retail stores, and more. However, they are operating on a tight schedule and will generally close early.

TL;DR Below is a concise list of the stores and institutions that are open and closed on Christmas Eve and day.

Christmas Day is a whole other story. Goverment run services such as Canada Post and the SAQ are closed, and most places, including local restaurants, grocery stores, and malls will be closed as well. With the exception of chains like McDonalds and smaller convenience stores, it will be harder to come by supplies on Christmas Day, so be sure to get prepared and stock up on snacks and food this weekend!
