What's Open And What's Closed New Year's Day 2019 In Montreal

Be prepared!

The bridge between Christmas and New Year's Day is a bizarre time. Maybe all that holiday food and wine puts us into a turkey-induced daze, but it almost feels like these couple of days have absolutely no meaning, especially if you're on vacation. We all just want to turn the leaf to 2019 already and start fresh.

That said, it's also a confusing time because many local businesses are closed and on vacation. You might be disappointed to find out your favourite family-run coffee spot or restaurant is closed until early January, for example.

That said, most commercial businesses will run on normal schedules, with the exception of January 1st, when 99% of Montreal will be sleeping.

Have a look at this list to make sure you are well prepared for the first day of the new year.
