This is it guys, we are currently in the peak days of summer. You know what that means? Yes - it's fireworks season in Montreal!
Throughout the month of July and August, the city hosts massive and stunning fireworks show every weekend that can be seen from most areas - if you're located in the southern part of the island.
That said, La Ronde is by far the best place to watch the fireworks. It's is the only place where you can watch the show as it was meant to be seen. Not only do you get to see the show from the best possible angle, but you also get to hear the music which is perfectly coordianted with every explosion! Best of all when you buy a ticket to the International des Feux Loto Quebec, you also get access to the Park for the entire day!
Some of the other spots the watch the show are from the Old Port, the Jacques Cartier Bridge, and Parc Jean Drapeau - Or, if you have a friend with a rooftop condo downtown or in Griffintown, bribe them with a bottle of wine and go watch from their roof.
One spot that I personally love to watch the fireworks is from the Clocktower beach in the Old Port.
On fireworks evenings the entry fee is only $5 and the beach is open until 11pm. Pull up a big blue chair and get cozy on the sand.
That said, the first fireworks show will be this Saturday, July 7th. However, if you can't make it to this show, fear not, there are several more shows lined up.
You can expect a fireworks show in Montreal on the following dates: July 7, July 11, July 14, July 18, July 21, July 28, August 1st and August 8. Mark your calendars now!
Also, a friendly reminder, be a good citizen and put away your phone during the fireworks. Because nobody ever re-watches those things anyways. Just enjoy the moment.
