When summertime hits the 514, street festivals are aplenty!
This is just a fact. Montreal has some of the best summer events, beer gardens, and street festivals around - it's part of what makes Montreal's summer season the best ever in Canada.
One very popular neighbourhood hosts an annual street festival every June, and this year they've made some changes.
The Monkland Village street festival was noticeably absent over the past year, having taken a hiatus to come back revamped in 2018.
Dubbed Imagine Monkland, the newly re-done street fair is a collaborative effort between NDG Arts Week and the NDG Business Association.
Imagine Monkland will bring together local NDG businesses, artists and the whole darn neighbourhood for an event that promises to be an "otherworldly experience of visual arts." All following a theme of creatures and monsters!
There will also be circus acts performing, and even a monster-themed parade right in the middle of the weekend! Sounds like fun!
Imagine Monkland street festival will all go down over St. Jean-Baptiste weekend, so if you're looking for some outdoor fun and shopping - then NDG is the place to be!
With over 15 hours of promised activities and shows, Imagine Monkland seems to have a little something for everyone. There are also free daytime workshops planned for kids and adults, alike.
The best part of these street fairs to me is easily the shopping opportunities. Over 50 vendors, from boutiques to restaurants, will claim there place along Monkland Avenue, and naturally, the roads will be closed to all vehicles.
