I have great news for all of you who have nothing better to do in the metro besides staring blankly at your own reflection in the window while trying not to make eye contact with people.
The Lucien-L'Allier and Georges-Vanier stations just got plugged into the STM mobile network.
This means you can get service from:
- Mont-Royal to Georges-Vanier on the Orange Line.
- Beaudry to Lionel-Groulx on the Green Line.
- Every station on the Yellow Line.
The mobile network works with 3G, 4G and 4G LTE so you can go online, stream videos and music, make calls and send texts.
And not just at the stations, in the tunnels as well.
The entire metro system should be connected within the next 5 to 7 years and thankfully it won't cost the taxpayers any money because Bell, Rogers, Videotron and Telus will be splitting the costs.
