Montreal's long list of Christmas and holiday events is only getting larger, and now you can add "The Nutcracker Market" to your list. Created by Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montréal, the Nutcracker Market will take over the first floor of Palais des congrès, transforming the venue into holiday bazaar for charity.
Launched in 2010, the Nutcracker Market has become an annual holiday event in Montreal, and its where a large number of citizens find the perfect gift for their loved ones. Hundreds of gift-ideas will be for sale by local vendors, enough to accommodate the 70,000+ visitors the Nutcracker Market is expecting.
Better yet, anything you buy at the Nutcracker Market goes to a worthwhile cause! A full 10% of all sales made by merchants, and everything earned by Les Grands Ballets, will go straight towards The Nutcracker Fund for Children, a fund dedicated to aiding children in underprivileged neighborhoods, allowing them to attend ballet performances and special workshops.
Anyone who's gone through Palais des congrès has probably already seen The Nutcracker Market, as it has been set up since November 26th. But get on it quick, because the Christmas market will only last until this Sunday, December 6th!
