Say what you want about the STM, but you can't say they're not trying. In an attempt to make our commute at least a little less boring, the Montreal's transport society have been slowly but methodically rolling out wireless service on its metro lines.

We were thrilled back in November when we could finally stalk our Facebook feeds and Youtube our favourite kitten compilations without interruption on the Green line, and now we are overjoyed to announce that metro users will now have access to leading-edge 3G, 4G and 4G LTE technology when travelling on the Yellow line. Yep, you can stop being forced to stare at strangers between Berri-UQÀM and Longueuil stations, and get back to staring at your phone.

This is actually the longest stretch of tunnel STM's wireless network partners (Bell, Rogers, TELUS and Videotron) are lighting up, with a full 2,362 metres of mobile connectivity. Never miss another call, text message, or streaming video while you're traveling back and forth to Parc Jean-Drapeau this summer.
