The 1980's was the heyday for the horror and slasher film genre. Some of the most iconic scary movies in film history were released in this decade.
TL;DR A new and terrifying 80's-inspired slasher/horror film called Terrifier is now on Netflix Canada.
Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, Halloween, and Child's Play – just to name a few – are all heart-pumping nail bitters that will make you sleep with the lights on for days.
Even though the 80's are long gone, the cinematic style of that time is still idealized by filmmakers looking to bring that feeling of spooky vintage nostalgia into the present day. Think Netflix's Stanger Things, as well.
That said, a new 1980's-inspired slasher film is now on Netflix. And it looks horrifyingly entertaining.
The 2018 film is appropriately called Terrifier. The premise is simple, as most horror films are: it's about a killer clown that looks like this:
The film takes place on Halloween night – duh – and follows this maniacal clown as he proceeds to terrify three young girls and everyone else who stands in his way.
The film features Art the Clown. Some critics claim that he "makes Pennywise look like Krusty." Art the Clown also appeared in All Hallow's Eve, also directed by Damien Leone.
The film was released on Netflix Canada on September 28th. Check out the official trailer below!
