Admit it, you've seen at least a couple of Netflix's romance films once in your life, on a lonely night, maybe with a glass of wine... In the past year alone more than a few Netflix Originals have become major hits, including titles like To All The Boy I Loved Before and Sierra Burgess is a Loser.
Luckily, 2018 wasn't the end of this teen dramedy/romance trend, as Netflix has officially announced that a film starring KJ Apa, from Netflix's "Riverdale," will be released at the beginning of next month.
Netflix just gave us the official trailer for the film yesterday, which is called The Last Summer. Needless to say, if you haven't watched it yet, you're going to want to.
TL;DR Netflix's newest upcoming teen romance movie, "The Last Summer", is set to be released on May 3, 2019. The film stars love interests KJ Apa and Maia Mitchell alongside Tyler Posey and Halston Sage. The official trailer for the film was just released yesterday.
The film's focus is four friends as they embark on their last summer after high school ends. As the title says, it's the last summer for the teenagers to figure out who they're going to be, and more importantly, who they're going to be with.
Basically, KJ Apa's character is a lot like Archie in "Riverdale", except in a much more normal context that people can actually relate to.
Of course, we all expected a grand love story between the main characters, which happens to be Apa and his co-star Maia Mitchell this time around. Like most of us, the character KJ Apa is pretty awkward when it comes to admitting his feelings.
Another protagonist in The Last Summer is a young woman, played by Halston Sage. She had just broken up with her ex and begins a new relationship with a handsome and charming baseball player, a role played by Tyler Posey from Teen Wolf.
Basically, the film captures everything that teenagers often face as they make the transition into adulthood. The coming-of-age romance is definitely what everyone needs this year.
The Last Summer is set to release on Netflix this May 3, 2019 meaning it'll be just in time for Spring.
This is yet another Netflix teen romance movie you do not want to miss, especially as the season of love begins.
