Skating around on the ice is one thing, and it's easy enough, but can you confidently say that you can dance-skate? You've probably never tried, because the idea of dancing on thin metal blades attached to shoes isn't exactly instinctual, but tonight is the night to try. Get your dancing skates on (if they exist) and try your hand at boogy-ing on frozen water at Apéros du Patin Libre's "skating dance party" to be held tonight at Parc La Fontaine.
A group of contemporary ice skaters, Apéros du Patin Libre's event will begin with a brief performance of their latest work, and once you've seen how the pros jive on the ice, you'll have your turn.
Music will transform the Parc La Fontaine skating rink into a veritable dance floor, with all skill-levels invited to partake. Anyone a little hesitant will be pleased to hear there will even be an ice-dancing workshop, so you can make sure you have at least a few moves to impress your skating-dance partner.
Apéros du Patin Libre's "skate dance party" begins at 6:30pm tonight at Parc La Fontaine, ending at 9pm, though avid dancers are more than welcome to dance 'til the ice rink closes at 10. Get more details by heading to the official event listing here.
