If we're being honest, Montreal has some weird establishments around. Animal cafes, strip joints galore, and a bar/barber shop combo that you can't miss. But as weird as we get, somewhere in Europe will always be weirder. This time it's Germany.
Have you ever wanted to watch a movie while sitting in a heated bubbling tub, surrounded by half naked strangers? Yeah, I haven't really thought about it either. But I have been guilty of watching TV shows while taking a bath. This is similar just... public.
Photo cred - whirlpool cinema
This German theatre is called Whirlpool Cinema. They're screening movies all summer long including Pulp Fiction, Inception and Hot Tub Time Machine (obviously). Blow up hot tubs are set up on a rooftop, adjacent to a projector screen on the wall of a neighbouring building.
I'm definitely giving these folks points for creativity. And while I think this could be an interesting experiment for Montreal, I would not want to be the first one to test it out. What if people get too handsy, or fart? That's bad enough in a normal theatre. What do you think?
