As we reported earlier this morning, Southern Quebec has been battered all day with 80+ km winds and it's causing reduced visibility on several Quebec highways.

It's rare that wind and blowing snow are so bad that Transport Quebec feels the need to shut highways down, but that's what's happening on Montreal's South Shore right now. At the time of publication of this article, several routes have been closed.

Check down below to see if your commute home is going to be affected.

TL;DR Due to intense winds that are resulting in blowing snow, Transport Quebec has closed several highways because the visibility is so poor. Check below to see if your commute home is going to be affected.

In addition to the ongoing closures on the 15 South due to an accident involving over 20 cars and multiple transport trucks, several other highways are also closed due to accidents and "harsh weather conditions."

Blowing snow and intense winds have reduced visibility so much that Transport Quebec has deemed it necessary to close several highways for an "undetermined" amount of time, likely until they see better visibility in these areas.
