On December 27th, the family of a woman named Sandra Bennett was preparing for her funeral at the Serenity Funeral Home in Nova Scotia.
But before the open-casket visitation started, Bennett's husband Gary noticed that the body in the casket wasn't his wife.
He told the staff that there was mistake, so they took the casket out and brought in another one.
Only that wasn't his wife either.
So now the mix-up involved three bodies. And as if that wasn't bad enough, the body was wearing Sandra Bennett's clothes.
That's when the funeral home staff told the Bennet's family that her body had accidentally been cremated.
The Nova Scotia Board of Registration of Embalmers and Funeral Directors is investigating the matter and the funeral home is waiting for the Bennett family's lawyer to get in contact with them.
