Cirque Du Soleil issued a statement Sunday evening that Yann Arnaud was taken to the Emergency Room, and passed away from his injuries not long after.

Yann Arnaud, who was originally from France, had been performing in a variety of Cirque Du Soleil shows across the U.S. for a while.

Cirque Du Soleil is currently investigating the cause of the accident. All of the remaining Volta shows in Tampa have been cancelled, no word on the rest of the tour as of yet.

He was a professional, and never encountered much more than your average performance hiccups. Sometimes, things go horribly wrong, and this is one of those tragic events when performing such intense acrobatics and stunts.

Arnaud leaves behind a wife and two daughters back home in France.

We send our condolences to his family, friends and co-workers/performers of Cirque Du Soleil.
