Who doesn't like a nice relaxing day of skiing? The slopes can be beautiful when the chairlift isn't spinning around in circles.

I bet the people who decided to check out the Gudauri Ski Resort in Georgia were less than pleased when the chairlift got a mind of its own.

It's being called a "malfunction", but as you'll see in the video, it's definitely not something to be taken lightly. Luckily, there were no casualties and only minor injuries, but the situation could've been a lot, lot worse if there had been people in the air when the chairlift started to go crazy.

Between eight and twelve people are said to have been hurt by the chairlift that sped up to twice its normal speed. It started spinning around and launching people out into the snow. People started jumping off the lift before they got to the bottom because they didn't want to be mixed up in the mess.

Thankfully, all treatment costs are going to be covered, but that should've been expected.

The park still isn't completely sure what caused the chairlift to lose it. Right now, they're thinking it was either a voltage fluctuation or brake issue. They're getting experts in to diagnose the problems and are connecting the Austrian manufacturer Doppelmayr Garaventa group.

Check out the video below, but fair warning, it's pretty disturbing.
