An inmate who was incarcerated at the Edmonton Institution for Women escaped on Wednesday night.
According to a source, Samantha Towedo escaped by simply jumping a fence that surrounded the institution. It's quite surprising as she's also reported to have been housed in a maximum security unit. Seems unlikely that inmates could just hop a fence, but apparently, this is what happened.

For those who are in the area or know someone who is, the facility is located at 111 Avenue, and 178 Street and police said Towedo was last seen running east towards 176 Street. However, she could be anywhere at this point.
The woman is 34-years-old, five-foot-five, and 140 pounds. She was last seen wearing black runners, black shorts, and a black tank top.
According to the police, she is a violent offender, and they are asking the public to assist with their search.
