Weekends in Montreal mean sangria in the park, appetizers on a restaurant terrace, and a grinding halt in construction that results in major street closures.

Because Quebec's infamous construction holiday begins on Sunday, road conditions around Montreal are going to be especially harrowing for the unwitting motorist. The holiday is the busiest time of year on Quebec roads and also one of the most dangerous.

To help you stay safe and navigate the mess of cconstruction, we've compiled a complete list of weekend closures: 

Victoria Bridge

The bridge will be completely closed to inbound traffic until 5am on Monday.


Jacques Cartier Bridge

The bridge will be completely closed to automobile traffic on Saturday night from 8:30pm to 11:30pm


Highway 10

– westbound between Clement and the Victoria Bridge is reduced to two lanes
– eastbound exit 5 is closed after 10pm every night
– eastbound access to A-15 south is completely closed


Highway 13

– southbound on the Chomedey Expressway is reduced to two lanes
– access to A-40 west is completely closed
– the service road from A-13 south to A-40 is is completely closed


Highway 15

– southbound exit 57-N is completely closed
– northbound exit 61 to Ave. Atwater is completely closed
– southbound exit 60 is completely closed
– the on-ramp to A-15 south from Blvd. de la Vérendrye is completely closed
– the ramp from A-15 north to A-20 west is completely closed
– the ramp from A-15 north to A-720 east is completely closed
– the access ramp to A-15 north is closed until Monday at 5am
– northbound from the Turcot Interchange to the NDG tunnel is reduced to two lanes
– traffic is reduced to two lanes in both directions between Blvd. Gaétan-Laberge and Ave. Atwater


Highway 20

– the access ramp from A-20 to R-138 east is completely closed
– access from A-20 east to A-15 north is closed until Monday at 5am
– eastbound exit 60 is closed every weekend night after midnight
– access to A-20 west from 32nd avenue is closed every weekend night after 10pm
– eastbound between exit 62 and the St-Pierre interchange is completely closed every weekend night after 10:30pm
– westbound between 1st avenue and route A-13 is reduced to one lane every weekend night after 11:30pm


Highway 40

- westbound on the Île-aux-Toutres is reduced to two lanes
– westbound between exit 70 and Blvd. Cavendish is completely closed every weekend night after midnight
– eastbound exit 76 is closed Friday night after 9pm


Highway 720

– westbound between the Ville-Marie Tunnel and the Turcot Interchange is reduced to two lanes
– eastbound between exits 4 and 6 is reduced to two lanes 
– the westbound ramp to A-15 south is completely closed
– westbound access to A-15 north is also completely closed
– eastbound between the Turcot Interchange and the Ville-Marrie Tunnel is reduced to two lanes
- Ave. Greene is completely closed in both directions between Rue St-Antoine and Blvd. Dorchester
– westbound exit 2 is completely closed
– the westbound onramp from Rue Fort is completely closed
– eastbound between Rue de la Montagne and Ave. Papineau is completely closed Saturday night after 8:30pm
– the westbound on-ramp from Rue Lucien-L'Allier is completely closed


Route 138

– westbound access to A-20 west is completely closed


Rue St-Jacques

– the street is completely closed in both directions between Ave. Girouard and Rue de Courcelle


Chemin de-la-côte-St-Paul

– eastbound between Blvd. Monk and Rue Phillipe-Lalonde is completely closed


Rue St-Rémi

– the street is completely closed in both directions between Rue Notre-Dame and Rue St-Paul
