What It Costs To Rent An Apartment In Every Major Canadian City

Apartment prices across Canada.

When you're looking to move within Canada, the question isn't so much which city you want to live in, rather it's which cities you can actually afford to live in. And a key factor that plays into any city's affordability rating is rent.

Montreal is often heralded as a haven for cheap rent rates, at least in comparison to most other major Canadian metropolises. But how does the city truly stack up against Vancouver, Edmonton, St. John's, and the many other cities found across Canada?

It's time to find out.

Compiling rent-data for apartments of varying sizes, RentSeeker.ca has created an extensive infographic on the average rent prices in almost fifty Canadian cities. In each city, the price of bachelor, one bedroom, two bedroom, and three bedroom apartments were documented.

The original infographic is quite extensive, showcasing less "popular" Canadian cities like Richmond, Mississauga, Saguenay, and many more alongside Canada's more renowned metropolises. You can check it out here.

Given that most people reading probably have a more cosmopolitan mindset, we've done the work for you and listed out the average rent prices for Canada's larger cities/the ones you would actually consider living in.
