Only 1 Out Of 3 Cegep Students In Montreal Actually Graduate On Time

And the numbers are getting worse.
Only 1 Out Of 3 Cegep Students In Montreal Actually Graduate On Time

It's a myth that higher education prepares you for the job market. In reality it seems as though a lot of what you learn in Cegep and University is a waste of time meant to delay you from competing for a job. Plus as an added "bonus" you get to fork over a ton of money, amass a shitload of debt, and you get the fun surprise of realizing that you can't get a job with your diploma anyways.

If that wasn't annoying enough, it's almost impossible to actually finish on time. So if you didn't manage to complete all of your Cegep credits on time, you're not alone.

Only 1 in 3 students finish Cegep within 2 years so that means you're losing an extra semester (and sometimes a whole year) of your life and and you have to pay an extra an extra semesters's tuition.

What's really messed up is that this isn't a secret, on-time gradation rates have been declining since 2001 and yet no adjustments have been made. So either the students aren't properly prepared for Cegep, or  the work load is simply too big to complete within 2 years.  But one thing's for sure, something has to change.
