This Tragic Montreal Home Is Somehow On The Market For $1,300,000

Typically, if a home is on the market for over one million dollars, you'd expect the best of the best. The location must be superb, design elements must be on point, and there must be some pretty spectacular perks.

Although some less-than-ideal locations might be worth investing in, it's a bit of a turn-off to find what's considered a million-dollar home totally out of place, with no redeeming qualities.

Well, that seems to be the case for this Montreal home that's currently on the market for over $1.3 million. So far, it doesn't look like it has received much interest from buyers.

TL;DR A Pointe-Saint-Charles home is currently on the market for $1,349,000. Although a larger sum, neither the house itself or the location really justify the price point. Facebook comments regarding the listing completely rip the house apart. More details below.

The Pointe-Saint-Charles dwelling, which currently has a price tag of $1,349,000, was first built in 1954 but has recently been totally renovated. Photos from the Engel & Völkers website follow:

The home does look a bit... industrial, to say the least. "Modern" was likely the look that the sellers were trying out when putting this space on the market.

The only problem is that so far, the 4-bedroom, 2-bathroom house has attracted more hate than it has interest.

The comments from Montrealers on a Facebook post by le Journal de Montréal regarding the home go as far as some flat-out calling it "frankly ugly," while another commenter declares that "even for $1000 per month I wouldn't have stayed [in it]."

I mean, if you need any more validation that this place might not be worth the price tag it currently has, just take a look at the exterior of the house that can be found on Google Maps:

No, not the graffiti-lined building, but one of the smaller homes next door. Not only does a million-dollar home look super out of place here, but this isn't really a neighbourhood you'd bet on catching a millionaire in.

Another Facebook commenter doesn't hold back, calling the listing "cheap" while other readers can respond only with a laughing-face emoji.

Yes, this home is a bit tragic. But on the bright side, maybe there's a millionaire somewhere in Montreal looking for a little project to pick up and totally transform.

Stay tuned to see if this beauty is swept off the market, and how much it ends up going for.
