People Are Freaking Out On Twitter After Realising Keanu Reeves Is A Proud Canadian
The Internet is buzzing with love, admiration and appreciation for the one and only Keanu Reeves, who has clearly made 2019 his year. After the release of John Wick 3 and Always Be My Maybe, in addition to the announcements of his participation in Toy Story 4 and the upcoming videogame Cyberpunk 2077, people can't stop talking about Keanu, the Internet's newest boyfriend.
While there will be no question about where he's from after his debut as Duke Caboom, Canada's greatest stuntman, some people didn't realize that he was Canadian before this voice acting role highlighted his heritage.
In fact, a lot of people on Twitter are completely baffled that 1) Keanu identifies as Canadian and 2) that they had no idea until now!

Sure we want to claim him as our very own, but like most Canadians, Keanu actually has a very complex and diverse ancestry. Not only was he born in Beirut, Lebanon to his British mother, his father is also of Chinese-Hawaiian and Portugese descent. How's that for multi-cultural! We stan.

People have started noticing recently that Keanu has some very polite hands, particularly when taking photos with female fans. Whether this stems from respect for these women (I imagine it does) or fear of lawsuits (I imagine it factors in), it is still supremely polite and therefore terribly Canadian. Another win.
