After all the party people hit the hay, and before most of the early risers start their day, there's that magical early morning hour where nearly everyone in Montreal is asleep. Excluding overnight workers and ravers, no one is out and about at 5am and the city gets becomes as much of a ghost town as a metropolis like Montreal can get.

Photographer Ovidiu Zaharia decided to visually document the city during this in-between hour, when the residents of Montreal are just about to enter or exit the dreaming world. Titled 5am, the photo series has a ethereal and eerie quality. Caught between night and day, the city at 5am is something to behold.
