Montreal is more than skylines, churches, and works of art. The true heart of the city lies in its many residents, their daily wanderings and actions in Montreal. Our city's more mundane features may not be as pretty. but they are what make Montreal simultaneously gritty and beautiful.

Sylvain Quidot, a sociologist and amateur photographer living in Montreal, understands the city, and his work focuses on the small and more ordinary things that make up Montreal. Quidot's photos may not be the most flattering, but that's what makes them so real and authentically beautiful.

Any Montrealer will be able to resonate with Quidot's stylistically simple photography. Check it below.
