Piknic Électronik Will Now Be Held At Montreal's Beer Garden Starting Next Week

MTL Blog has scooped up some fresh news for you and we are happy to announce that you will now apparently be able to get your Piknic on for three special events at Jardins Gamelin! Yep, you won't have to wait all the way to Sunday anymore for amazing tunes and good times, according to the Jardins Gamelin's event page, the Berri-Uqam beer garden will be hosting Piknic Électronik:

Friday, June 5th from 5:00pm to 11:00pm

5pm - Seychelle

8pm - Nymra & Sofisticated

Thursday, July 16th (times and lineup, to be announced)

Thursday, August 6th from (times and lineup, to be announced)

No word yet on Dj lineups or what other surprises they got in store, but either way, we are PUMPED!

The Mayor of Montreal, Valérie Plante, hit up one of Montreal's most loved events this weekend: Piknic Électronik.

And by the looks of her Instagram story, her and her colleagues definitely vibed with the DJ sets they got to hear while there.

Montreal has all kinds of different bars, but these changemakers say many of them fall short in making space for LGBTQIA2+ women. For this reason, Avery Burrow, event organizer, and Resto Keela teamed up to create 5 à 7s for LGBTQIA2+ women that take place twice a month.

The events were created for members of the LGBTQ2S+ community to connect. According to Burrow, "queer women can actually have a reoccurring space where they can meet each other, flirt, make friends, and feel safe," at these new 5 à 7s.

Starting on June 30, new "large-scale garden installations" will be put up along avenue du Mont-Royal to "provide citizens with a summer experience tinged with slowness and gentle living, right in the heart of the Plateau," according to a press release shared with MTL Blog. 

There will be seven installations in total.

POP Montreal Is Hosting A Free National Indigenous Peoples Day Concert In Montreal

The show will feature Indigenous DJs, bands, opera singers and more.

POP Montreal is hosting a free concert to celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day in Montreal, in collaboration with Resilience Montreal, the Native Women's Shelter of Montreal and the Ville-Marie borough.

Shows will begin in the afternoon on June 21, with a lineup of Indigenous performers, including singers, guitarists, bands, spoken word artists, opera singers and electro DJs.
