Pit Bull Viciously Attacked Two Children In Montreal Yesterday

It's no news to Montrealers that pit bulls don't have a good reputation in the city. There's been a lot of controversy over the last few years whether the dogs should be allowed in the city, with many people fearful of them and demanding they be illegal to own. Although you might love all dogs and think pit bulls deserve another chance, you'll have to admit what happened over the weekend was really, really bad.

In two separate incidents yesterday, two children were brutally attacked by a pit bull in Montreal North. It was the same dog in both attacks.
Earlier in the day on Sunday as a four-year-old child was playing outside, they were suddenly charged and bitten by the dog that came out of nowhere. The child was then transported to a hospital to be treated for their injuries. In the meantime, the dog in question was placed back inside of the home of their current guardian. The owner was out of town and had left the dog with friends. The dog was locked inside, and everyone thought things would be safe from then on.
Unfortunately, things only got worse from there. Later in the afternoon the pit bull was somehow able to escape their enclosure and land back on Montreal streets unattended, this time targeting a seven-year-old little girl who was outside playing.
The dog ran at the girl and bit her arm, totally unprovoked. As the girl screamed out, a passerby came to her rescue and tried to hold back the dog until police arrived. During this, the dog had began to attack the adult as well.
Animal control finally arrived, taking the dog into custody. The little girl was transported to a hospital with serious bite wounds but it's said that she will survive. Not much is known of the man who saved the girl and what his injuries amount to, but we can all agree he's the real hero in this situation.
As for the pit bull, well, you can probably piece together that it will most likely be euthanized for attacking the children. Hopefully the owner of the dog was given the news of Sunday's events before they come back to town oblivious of what their dog did.
