Quebec Just Released Its First Cannabis Ad And Here's What It Looks Like

As most of us know, Quebec is patiently waiting for the legalization of marijuana. The date is coming pretty soon, so some of the locations of official stores that'll sell the government-run product have already been released, not to mention the Quebec Cannabis Society has already released the official logo. You'd think that would be the extent of media representation, right?

Well, not exactly. Today the first cannabis advertisement for Quebec was released and it's pretty interesting to see. Not only will the ad be on the internet, but pot enthusiasts will be able to find it on TV as well as the radio.

In case you were curious how much the advertisement costs, well, it's reportedly more than $2 million. In fact, Quebec is so strict on how cannabis is represented in the province's media that they even rejected an advertisement that was over $1.5 million less, just because the government felt it didn't correspond to the idea they're trying to get across.

In the ad, it's pretty obvious that the province wants you to know every single law surrounding legal cannabis use. Some of the super strict laws that will be in place include designated smoking areas, how much marijuana you can have on you at a time, and how illegal it is for minors to smoke (or even posess) cannabis.

Specific advertisements will also be released to remind people that driving while under the influence of the recreational drug is super illegal. The ads will look similar to the drunk driving commercials that you already see on TV, so it won't be too big of a surprise when you spot the advertisements popping up everywhere.

It's so interesting to see the rise of cannabis culture in public media! You can definitely expect to see more of it in the near future.
