Quebec Now Has A Vegetarian "Cabane À Sucre"
Ah, spring. One of my top two favourite seasons, spring is a beautiful time of rejuvenation, rebirth - everything's blooming, all that crap (Anyone get this reference? Anyone? Okay, moving along). But do you know what else is great abut springtime in Quebec? Carting you and your friends/family off to your favourite sugar shack.
Unless you're a vegetarian. Well, no, scratch that: even if you're a vegetarian, you can still have a super fun time at a cabane à sucre. There are activities galore, plus the tire d'erable is pretty much the epitome of an awesome time. But if you are a vegetarian, that often means you can't really participate as much in the meat-maple feast that takes place in pretty much every single Quebec cabane à sucre. Because, you know. Meat.

Well, not anymore, friends. The sugar shack at Auberge Handfield (555 Rue Richelieu, Saint-Marc-sur-Richelieu) offers a full vegetarian menu for its guests, with goodies such as polenta, potage, and other awesome meat-free options.
If you're gluten-free, then this place has also got your back. According to its website, they also serve food that's free of allergens. Of course, Cabane À Sucre Handfield also offers a traditional menu - so make sure that when you call to reserve, you specify what you want to eat.
Cabane À Sucre Handfield is roughly a 40 minute drive from the city. For more information, check out Cabane À Sucre Handfield's website.
