Québec Will Not Be Banning Pit Bulls
The madness seems to be coming to an end.
You may remember a few weeks ago when the mayor of Quebec city said he was outright banning pit bulls? Well yesterday he had a change of heart and decided not to ban them after all.
The mayor made the announcement shortly after a group of pit bull owners protested outside city hall.
According to TVA, the mayor claims he never actually wanted to take pit bulls away from their owners but that he wanted to spark a province-wide debate about adopting certain regulations to control "dangerous dogs".
But that's really messed up. I understand using shock to get attention, but this is toying with people's emotions on a whole other level.
There are some things you just don't joke about.
People were threatening to move away so they could keep their dogs. Others were already looking for people to adopt their dogs in case the ban actually went into effect.
In Montreal some psychos started poisoning dogs and dropping meatballs with razor blades for dogs to find. The SPCA even offered a $5,000 reward to help catch these guys.
This is a serious issue, not an opportunity to get some attention.
Hopefully, Montreal will chill the fuck out as well and drop all the new regulations that are supposed to be implemented here.
