Quebec's Glass Platform "Skywalk" Is One Of The Most Beautiful Places In The Country
It's true, Summer is coming to a close. Soon enough the leaves will be turning red and orange, you'll start having to wear sweaters outside, and pumpkin spice lattes will be back in cafés.
Until then, you still have a few more weeks of Summer to make the most of, so the activities you choose to do have to be over-the-top amazing. You have to make this Summer go out with a bang! Luckily there's an excursion in the province made just for that.
This suspended glass platform located in Géoparc de Percé is a one-of-a-kind experience that'll make you feel like you're floating in air over the edge of a high cliff. This is not for the faint of heart!
The platform has only been open since June 2017, so it's a fairly new attraction that's brought people from across the world to test their fear of heights and witness the breathtaking views of Northern Quebec's Forillon Park.
At over 200 meters above sea level, not only do you get to experience what it's like to literally be on the edge of a cliff, but you also get the best views imaginable of the entire park. The end of the platform that actually extends farther out than the cliff has a clear glass floor, so unless you want to get shivers down your spine, don't look down!
The hike up to the platform is about 30 minutes, but if you're not into a bit of walking before your fantastic view you can take the shuttle service up to the platform for $5.
If the views from the tip of the platform weren't enough to give you a major adrenaline rush, there's also the option of zip lining from the platform for the ULTIMATE view of the Gulf St-Laurent and Bonaventure Island.
The zip line reaches speeds of 50km/hr, so you'll want to be an absolute thrill seeker to participate in an excursion like this.
This is the only bucket list activity that has to be completed before Summer is over, so what are you waiting for?!
