This year, the weather in December was extremely mild, almost spring-like. And it turns out, the warm weather jump-started the maple syrup production.

Angelo Trepanier, a maple grove owner took advantage of the heat to make notches in over 700 maple trees in December instead of later in the season.

He was able to produce about 45 gallons of syrup which has been called: Christmas Syrup. This has only happened once in his 50 year career, in October 2011. But this is the first time he has ever produced Christmas syrup.

The syrup is clear and is reported to be of very high quality.

So Mr. Trepanier, if you're reading this, I'll give you $50 for a can ... seriously. Don't make me resort to launching my own maple syrup heist.
