Queen Elizabeth Just Posted Her First-Ever Instagram Post Using The Royal iPad And It's Absolutely Adorable (Video)

Queen Elizabeth II, the reigning Queen of Canada, is not known for her tech savviness, nor for her ability to connect to the common folk of her country. Today, however, marks a remarkable day for social media. The Queen just posted her first photo, EVER, on Instagram.

The photo was posted on the Royal Family's Instagram (@theroyalfamily). Though the Instagram page is quite active with updates about the royal family, this is the first time the Queen has posted a photo herself.

TL;DR The Queen of Canada just posted her first photo on Instagram as part of her inaugural visit to the Science Museum's exhibit "Top Secret."

The Queen visited the museum as they announced an upcoming exhibit, Top Secret, which explores “over a century’s worth of communications intelligence” through hand-written documents, declassified files, and previously unseen artifacts from the U.K.’s intelligence archives.

The photo's lengthy caption explains that it is a photo of "a letter from the Royal Archives, written in 1843 to my great-great-grandfather Prince Albert."

She continues by saying "in the letter, Babbage told Queen Victoria and Prince Albert about his invention the “Analytical Engine” upon which the first computer programmes were created by Ada Lovelace, a daughter of Lord Byron."

The photo was posted by the Queen from her iPad. The Royal Family posted the video to their Instagram.

Here's to hoping that the Queen takes to social media more frequently.
