• Quebec's natural beauty knows no bounds, and these examples of a remote oasis are no exception.
  • There are countless little islands around the province and these ones are for sale right now.
  • Got some extra cash? Buy yourself a private island! Or at least take a look below and dream...

Who hasn't thought about escaping the city from time to time? And if you're going to escape, why not do it in true style with your own private island?

With so much buzz lately about the first Island on our list, Les Isle Mouk Mouk, we wanted to take a look to see if there were any other secluded islands in Quebec for sale. Who knows, maybe someone is looking to unload their refuge to some poor soul in exchange for peanuts or magic beans (spoiler: no one is).

The good news is that some of these properties run under a million dollars. The bad news is that most are inaccessible without a boat or plane. But hey, just more excuses to buy some toys.

There is so much you could do with acres of land; a family retreat, an evil lair, a yoga retreat, a human hunting ground a la "The Most Dangerous Game" style, or an epic paintball site (which strangely was the most popular recommendation in the write-ups).

The great thing is you can do whatever you want because you're miles away from other human beings and there is a serious body of water that will keep it that way.

Les Isles Mouk Mouk

COST: $2,643,000

Yes, the magical island of Mouk Mouk is for sale.  This 175-acre property is completely undeveloped so you can create your own paradise.

Located in Northwestern Quebec on Lac Duparquet not far from the city of Rouyn-Noranda. There is also a mainland lot thrown into the price, that has access to the island - so getting back and forth still allows for privacy.

Oulette Island

COST: $950,000

Oullette Island is the only island on Lac Des Ecorces, so along with 20 acres of private land, you can look down your nose at the mainland plebs.

There is a two-story wooden cottage already constructed on the land. But if you're paying close to a million dollars in property, it may not be up to your millionaire standards. Time to rip it down and build your own version of a chalet.

Half Crown Island

COST: $1,800,000

This may be my personal favourite. Just an hour and a half drive from Ottawa, Half Crown Island sits on the glacier-formed Thirty-One Mile Lake. This is one of those lakes you see in postcards - clear, blue, and pristine

There are five cabins built on the land but the main house is really the one to stay in, complete with 20-person formal dining room.

31 Mile Lake

COST: $878,797

Good news! There has been a reduction in price, so you can now score 25-acres of land for under $900k.

While the island is accessible by a paved road, the house property is completely off the grid and equipped with solar power, a wood stove and a backup generator. This is a place to relax and take in the scenery - there are floor to ceiling retractable windows that face west - perfect for sunsets.

Oh yeah, the kicker? It's pretty much bug-free.

Île Québec

COST: $ 1,182,742

In the Laurentian mountains, located in the small community of Nominingue, Quebec, sits this little gem. This 67-acre island sits on Lac des Grandes Baies, parts of which fall under a protected wildlife reserve.

This undeveloped location is extremely tranquil and rare to be on sale, and because of the wildlife reserve, the zoning laws are a slow and restrictive process. But who cares, you have your own island!

That's it. Now's your chance to snap up one of these five ultra-private islands.
