Indeed, entrepreneurs, provincialgovernments, and growers, alike, are scrambling to make their mark in the industry once weed becomes legal on October 17th.

While that deadline is still just over two months away, significant progress has already been made. Government-run retail stores are under construction and companies are experimenting with new marijuana products. Molson is even developing a weed beverage, which would only be available after edibles are made legal in 2019.

All of these efforts have spurred a massive hiring spree in the burgeoning industry. Everything from provincial stores to corporate growers are looking to fill a labour demand created by the rapidly growing market and competition.

A simple search for jobs related to the weed industry in Canada yields innumerable opportunities in positions as diverse as growing, marketing, and product testing! Check them out here!

The Cannabis Growth Corporation, the second-largest cannabis producer on the continent, also lists dozens upon dozens of open jobs on their website.
