Reduced Fares Are Being Given To Transit Users In Montreal After Construction Started Making Everyone Late For Work
It's no secret that most of Montreal is made up of commuters. Our preferred mode of transportation? Public transit. Sure, sometimes it can be a bit annoying to get on an early morning subway ride and be crammed between random people, and it's not always the most reliable way to get around, but it gets the job done.

Well... up until recently.
Unless you live under a rock, you've seen some sort of construction work around the city. It's everywhere. As of recently there's been quite a bit of construction on the Deux-Montagnes train line. As preparation for the new electric REM transit system swings into full motion, construction has gotten pretty heavy.
With construction, of course, comes massive delays. Seriously, the service on the Deux-Montagnes line has been so bad lately that a commuter from Laval actually filed a class-action lawsuit. The construction is making everyone extremely late for work!
A delay every once in a while is expected, but commuters are dealing with this every single day. So, the Quebec government did the only thing left to do - offer some pretty sweet discounts for anyone who travels along the line.
Exo, which is the transit authority that serves greater Montreal, has announced that due to construction it can no longer guarantee people will ever get to work on time. They've not only blamed the intense construction along the line for the delays this Summer, but also the unbelievable heatwaves we've been having constantly the last few months.
Commuters can receive up to 30 per cent in savings on their annual or monthly passes. To receive your reduced fare price for travelling along the Deux-Montagnes line, all you have to do is fill out a form through Exo. You might want to hurry up though, because you only have until August 20.
Construction along the line is going to last until 2023, so you may want to take advantage of this offer while you still can.
