The greatest news anchor of all time is soon to become a published author. Thats right, Ron Burgundy is writing a book, and its a memoir. Upon the release of the sequel Anchorman: The Legend Continues, Burgundy's self written history, titled Let Me Off at the Top! My Classy Life and Other Musings, will simultaneously be blessed upon the masses. And this ain't a joke, the book will be published by the very real Crown Archetype, a branch of Random House's Crown Publishing Group.
What will the book retell? Why the fantastic misadventures of Ron Burgundy of course. Never before seen (or read in this case) stories of Ron Burgundy's childhood will be told, his many romantic escapades, and many a page devoted to the loveable Baxter. Expect no punches pulled, as all stories will be told in the words of the legendary Channel 4 news anchor.
During a press release for the soon-to-be bestseller, Burgundy has this to say: "I don't know if it's the greatest autobiography ever written. I'm too close to the work.I will tell you this much: the first time I sat down and read this thing...I cried like a goddamn baby, and you can take that to the bank!" More poetic words were never spoken.
For those clamoring for a copy, the book will be available online and in print on November 19th. Hopefully it will tide you over until the release of the cinematic epic Anchorman: The Legend Continues on December 20th. Here's the trailer to keep you classy until then.
For all those looking for a Ron Burgundy fix, you're still gonna have to wait until Dec. 20th when Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues hits theaters. A long ways away, but the newest trailer for the return of the Channel 4 News Team has hit the interwebs to keep you semi-satisfied. Just as zany as ever, the newest Anchorman film will also feature a star studded cast (outside of the core four) including Jim Carrey, Kanye West, Sacha Baron Cohen, Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman and Harrison Ford. Sadly, and Kristen Wiig. Watch below and get laughing.
Even better news? Ben and Jerrys, the ice cream kings of Vermont, have released the epically delicious news of a Ron Burdundy ice cream flavour titled 'Scotchy, Scotch, Scotch." No actual scotch will be in the ice cream (unfortunately) and will instead be a butterscotch ice cream with a butterscotch swirl. The perfect snack to mack on while laughing at Burgundy's latest and hilarious exploits.
