Savage Toronto Raptors Fans Shoot Fireworks Outside Hotel At 3 AM To Rattle Golden State Warriors (Video)
Canadians are known to be ravenous sports fans, especially when it comes to their local team. Vancouver and Montreal come to mind as cities that have literally been destroyed because of sporting events. Toronto is a whole other beast, however.
The Toronto Raptors, Canada's only NBA Basketball team, are tipping off Game 1 of the NBA Finals tonight at 9PM and the city has turned into one huge party. They're not destroying the city, though. In fact, Raptors have been incredibly polite with their revelry — except when it comes to the opposing team.
Early this morning, fans apparently found out that the Golden State Warriors are staying at the St. Regis Hotel in downtown Toronto and began shooting off fireworks in front of the hotel as of 3AM to interrupt the team's sleep! Raptors fans take no prisoners.
Watch the video below:
Fans have also been lining up in front of Scotiabank Arena since 7AM this morning in anticipation of the first ever NBA Finals game in Toronto history.
This wild fan behaviour is shocking to some but what's good is that no one has decided to flip over any cars. You go, Toronto!

Toronto's incredible diversity is on display here at Jurassic Park and the energy is palpable. There has never been an NBA Final game played in Toronto and the city has come alive in support of their team.
People lighting fireworks off at the St. Regis where the Warriors are staying kind of makes me proud of Toronto’s pettiness. #NBAFinals— Yulya Bee (@Yulya Bee) 1559227956.0

So far, the fan response has been unprecedented. Even basketball fans in the United States, many of whom weren't even aware of Toronto's existence, have come out in droves to show support of Canada's only basketball team.
Jurassic Park at the Scotiabank Arena is officially Canada's biggest on-going block party. Doors to the arena open at 3PM but fans have been lining up since before 7AM this morning. Tip-off is at 9PM but the party shows no sign of letting up.

As basketball creeps into the Canadian consciousness, the Raptors are quickly becoming Canada's favourite team even as the Stanley Cup Final between the St. Louis Blues and the Boston Bruins is happening.
You don't have to be in Toronto to join the party, however! Cineplex is showing the NBA Finals in select theatres across the country.
