Simon's is expanding west and right into my heart.
West-islanders have scored the retailer's 16th store.

In 2021 The Fairview Pointe Claire shopping center will welcome a giant new location, which will occupy the expansive square-footage of space vacated by the now extinct Sears. The space will spread over two floors with additional dining underneath on the ground level of the mall.
Simon's and food in a single location? Oui, merci.
Until now, the department store chain has been confined on the island to downtown Montreal. There are other locations in Anjou and Laval.
This expansion follows the announcement that the provincial government of Quebec will loan Simon's an $81M dollars to build a new distribution center.
That money is supposed to help the Quebec-based retailer meet the demand of online sales as retail centers across the continent continue to decline.
But the new West Island store proves that our favourite clothing store is still going strong.
That's good news for all of us and especially me. I love Simon's. I love multi-floor stores. And I need a new shirt.ย
