- One of the Kansas City Chiefs' players is Quebec's very own Laurent Duvernay-Tardif, who beyond playing football, also happens to have a medical degree from McGill University.
- Dr. Duvernay-Tardif, you make Quebec proud.
- Read all about him below!
Montreal has a lot to be proud of. And, Laurent Duvernay-Tardif is one of the hometown heroes that we can't get enough of. For those who don't know who this talent is, Duvernay-Tardif is best known as the offensive lineman for the Kansas City Chiefs. He also happens to be the first active NFL player to become a doctor after graduation.
This Montreal local got his medical degree from McGill University in 2018 and he has single-handedly proven that some people truly can do it all.
Not only is this stud an all-star football player as well as a doctor but he has also managed to find the time to start his a foundation, which is just another reason to be impressed by him.
Foundation LDT organizes "turnkey events that encourage the balance between sports, arts, and studies with a particular commitment to third cycle elementary students."
Duvernay-Tardif is a force to be reckoned with. His incredible talent on the football field may impress the masses but it is his warm heart and ambition to aid those in need that makes him a local hero. And, as a bonus, he is incredibly easy on the eyes.
On Sunday, February 2, 2020, the McGill graduate will be one of the many athletes to compete in the anticipated Super Bowl.
The Kansas City Chiefs have waited 50 years to be back on the Super Bowl field. And it's nice to know that a Montreal local is part of their journey.
Duvernay-Tardif was the only player to participate in Quebec's first-ever pro day. The 2014 event was held in Montreal and 9 NFL scouts watched him put his passion on the field, earning himself a spot in the NFL.
Duvernay-Tardif was a top-ranked player during his university career. Somehow he managed to be an athlete and a med student at McGill at the same time. A superhuman, I'd say.
There is something to be said about a man in uniform. For some, the football jersey is enough to make them weak at the knees. For me, it's seeing a man in a long white lab coat.
The scrubs don't look so bad either. I don't know what TLC was talking about, because yes, I do want scrubs!
And something tells me his patients don't mind the scrubs either... Or the scruff!
As a doctor and an athlete, Laurent knows the importance of taking care of your body. And I must say, I wouldn't mind having this handsome man cook me dinner one night - totally forgetting the minor detail that he has a girlfriend, and I may or may not have a husband after this article.
If all of this information wasn't enough to have you falling in love with this Quebec native, then maybe these pictures of him with the kids from his foundation will have your heart skipping a beat or two.
Needing medical attention is never enjoyable but I wouldn't mind waking up from surgery and this face being the first that I see.
We wish our hometown hero the best of luck in his upcoming game and hope that he will be the first Quebec native to get to rock a super bowl ring!
