Strip Clubs Are Disappearing Across Canada
There are plenty of forms of entertainment to fill your day – watching TV, playing video games, attending a concert, going to the movie theatre, and even scrolling through Instagram.

In the not-so-distant past, that list might have included regular visits to the local strip clubs.
Strip clubs seem to be the type of activity you reserve for bachelor/bachelorette parties, or even a friend's birthday.
In the past, it used to be more common for people to get off work, head to the strip club, grab some drinks and spend a couple grand. Why the sudden change?
There are a couple reasons, changes in the economy being the most salient.
For instance, men working on the oil sands at one point had enough disposable income to spend at their favourite strip joint.
But with recent layoffs, it's no wonder those men aren't spending their money so frivolously.
These men aren't the only ones experiencing pay-cuts. Blue-collar workers as well as labourers in other industry sectors have also seen wage reductions.
There's also a shift elsewhere – in how people are viewing these clubs, their preferences, and the gentrifications of former "red light" neighbourhoods.
Obviously these clubs do extremely well during bachelor-party season, but when that's over (usually after the summer), it's hard to keep a lot of customers coming through.
It's no joke. This industry is literally dissapearing before our eyes across Canada. Take for instance PEI and Nova Scotia, where officials have moved to ban strip clubs entirely.
Saskatchewan has also completely banned strip clubs. Yukon and Nunavut currently don't have any permanent ones.
What about big cities like Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal? You can bet they're also experiencing a major hit.
Don't be surprised if you start seeing a lot of these clubs dissapearing in your city!
