No matter how you spin it, there are certain features of Montreal that a little, for lack of a better word, dumb. You know what I"m saying, those "how can this still be happening in 2015?" aspects of the city you really want changed. You're not alone in those thoughts, as a recent study by the l’Office de consultation publique de Montréal (OCPM) has shown, reports Journal Métro.
Asking Montrealers over the phone and online over the course of November, the OCPM delved into how Montreal could become a better "smart city" and make life easier for citizens. Despite the many Montrealers asked on two different platforms, the suggestions were all very similiar.
In general, to make Montreal a "smarter" city, citizens asked for improved transportation service, better organization for on the road construction so there are less traffic jams, and the ability to pay bills/tickets online. If the poll was taken post-ice storm, we're guessing snow clearing would definitely have made the list.
Launching Montreal into the modern age is the task of the city's bureau de la ville intelligente, who will take the study into consideration when planning their 3-year plan of action, to be released at the end of January.
