Why You Need To Go: Nothing says summer quite like a day on the beach. Plage Saint Zotique is a classic spot for Montrealers to visit during the summer and makes for a great day to spend the day with your person just relaxing by the water.

Montreal's go-to green space is hosting a plant market to help you spruce up your home garden. The 25th Great Gardening Weekend at the Botanical Garden marks the start of the gardening season from May 27 to 29. Over forty exhibitors will have plants and tools for sale, so you can get your hands on some new greenery and ask for advice on upcoming gardening projects.
This year's theme celebrates the garden as a meeting place, where the fruits of a gardener's labour result in produce and flowers to share with loved ones.
Espace pour la vie will have representatives from the My Garden program on-site to discuss making your garden more biodiverse. The annual program is free and open to all Quebec residents to encourage growing native species of flora, support wildlife, or make a home butterfly/bird sanctuary.
Other gardening groups will also have booths, like the École des métiers de l'horticulture de Montréal, Mission Monarque team, Plant Biology Research Institute, and urban agriculture afficiadaos Cultiver Montréal .
All weekend from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. DJ Amalia will turnip the beets.
While you don't need a green thumb to attend the Great Gardening Weekend, you will need to buy a regular Montreal Botanical Garden ticket.
Paid parking is available in the P1 area of the Botanical Garden at 4101 rue Sherbrooke Est. For those who want to take public transit, Pie-IX metro station is just a five-minute walk from the event.

The tiles have been refinished, the city of Shanghai donated a miniature landscape as a gift of friendship to Montreal, the stones have all been shipped from China, and the new "dragon theme" has been revealed.
And remember, the best time to visit the Chinese garden is starting September 8th at night. that's when the garden gets turned into the Jardin des Lumieres!
And if you want to know the best place to watch the Eclipse, look no further than Montreal's Rio Tinto Alcan Planetarium. you're invited to join astronomers to observe the eclipse and you'll even be provided with free eclipse observation goggles.
Although Montreal doesn't really have legit blooming AF cherry blossom trees, because our climate doesn't exactly allow for them to thrive here, we do have a bunch of other glorious cherry blossom lookalikes - like crabapple trees and magnolia trees.
And it just so happens that you can catch these glorious trees throughout the city, but no spot is more beautiful than Montreal's very own Botanical Garden (4101 Rue Sherbrooke E).
The "cherry blossoms" bloom at the Botanical Garden during the month of May, which means that after the month is up, you probably won't be able to check them out in all their glory.

The Botanical Garden is even hosting a special picnic under the crabapple trees on May 21.
