Every summer in Montreal, Hollywood celebrities flood the city.
They come to film movies, perform shows, host galas, attend conventions or they simply come to hang out and enjoy all the festivities MTL has to offer, and it all starts on Grand Prix Weekend.
With tons of events, and a movie or two filming in Montreal this year, it's no wonder we've got quite a handful of celebs visitng our beautiful city. Here are just a few you might be able to spot during the summer.
Along with these celebs, it's been speculated that we might see Jennifer Lawrence, Rose Byrne, James McAvoy, and other celebs in connection with the newest X-Men movie.
So far, the one that has got us most excited is Guest of Honour Nathan Fillion better known as Captain Malcolm Reynolds in Firefly and Richard Castle on Castle.
There's a lot of hype around Nathan Fillion this year, he will return to the big screen as Simon Williams Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
In the past, Fillion also played in Saving Private Ryan, Much Ado About Nothing, Percy Jackson: The Sea of Monsters, Two Guys and a Girl, Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Desperate Housewives, Lost, The Big Bang Theory, Modern Family, and, even on the new Netflix series called Santa Clarita Diet.
Commicon takes place at the Palais des Congres July 7-9.
Guys, 50 Shades Darker is coming out in Montreal on February 10... just in time for Valentine's Day! If you're at all into the trilogy that pretty much everyone is swept up in, then that's awesome news.
But there might be a few things you don't know about the film. And if not, then no worries. I got your back.
1. It's going to be dark AF.
Or at least definitely "darker" than first movie... hence the title. This film will have more of a thriller type of vibe. (I'm sure there's a vibe joke here, somewhere).
2. You might recognize some of the scenery.
No, not because we've already seen it in the first movie, but actually because parts of the movie were filmed in Canada. Vancouver, to be precise.
3. Things won't be so sketchy this time around.
Apparently, the sequel focuses more on the "love" aspect of their relationship, rather than the whippy aspect. Do with that what you will.
4. The actors had to get in shape AF for this role.
Celebrity trainer Ramona Braganza was brought in to train leads Dakota Johnston and Jamie Donran. Which is probably because...
5. Yes, there will be nudity.
I mean, obviously. But how much nudity, and who exactly will be left in the buff, is yet to be seen.
6. It's not even out yet, and the film's already breaking records.
The trailer for Fifty Shades Darker actually broke the record for the most views in 24 hours. Before that, the record belonged to the trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
7. It's (kind of) a family affair.
E.L. James, who wrote the books the films are based upon, is married to Niall Leonard, who wrote the screenplay for the Fifty Shades Darker movie.
8. They're filming off of pure momentum.
The second and third movies (Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed) were filmed back to back, so if you recognize a similar tone in the third movie, that's why.
9. Not just anyone gets to see the movie's sex scenes being filmed live.
The sex scenes are actually filmed on a closed set, where only the most important people are allowed to be.
10. You'll be able to see the third film in exactly one year.
Fifty Shades Darker is set to be released on February 10, 2017; Fifty Shades Freed will be released on February 8, 2018.
Montreal sure is stepping up their concert game in 2017! 2017 is literally booked just about every month with at least one fabulous performance. Not only are all these artists extremely talented, but they each specialize in their own genre so there is most likely something on this list for everyone!
So, start saving your money because with your luck you will probably want to attend over half of these concerts! Most average tickets are fairly priced but if your favorite band is on the list and you want insane seats, you better save up because those can cost you an arm and a leg.

I literally almost died when I found out that Coldplay was coming to Montreal! Time for sweet memories and jamming out! This concert literally looks amazing!
Ah yes, back to the high school years where Green Day was one of everyone's favourite bands. For this concert, it's time to call your old BFF and jam out like you use to but with Green Day in 2017!
You read that right, Montreal Guns N' Roses lovers. This super popular (and awesome!) band is making its way to Parc Jean-Drapeau this summer; it's sure to be one awesome show!
And that means that all those celebrities who were talking shit about moving to Canada will have to put their money where their mouths are.
There are a ton of celebrities who have expressed the desire to leave the good old US of A. Many of them have even specifically mentioned they want to move to Canada
And let's face it, those who are undecided as to where to go, will most likely end up coming to to Canada since it's the nearest country and it's the country that resembles the USA the most.
So when we see a post that mentions DJ Khaled might be coming to Montreal, we just can't ignore it.
Olivier Primeau, the owner of Beach Club has been doing surveys on his Facebook page to ask the people which artists they want to see playing next year.
We were staring at this picture trying to figure out where this was taken. And after realizing that the store fronts were fake, we noticed you could see a reflection in the window that read "eeknO"
So finally we figured out this was taken across the street from Marche Onkee in Verdun.
Stiller also took the time to visit a couple of shop owners, including a game shop and a hair salon.
Superstar actor/comedian Ben Stiller visited us at our Montreal location today! https://t.co/EgmrYvBcsM
Everyone likes to feel good in their own skin. But let's be honest, it's tough when you're constantly surrounded by seemingly perfect celebrities showing off their fabulous bikini bodies everywhere you look. Doesn't matter what you do, that stubborn handful of fat hugging your hips or thighs just won't seem to go away, despite your very best attempts at the latest fad diet.
But there is an easier way, because I'm about to share with you the secret fat-loss trend used by loads of your favourite movie stars that's quickly taking over the world. And it just so happens, it's available right here in Montreal!
Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Lopez, Jennifer Aniston, Kris Jenner, Jason Segel, Simon Cowell and many other notable celebs have opted for this game-changing procedure to get rid of excessive fat on their body. Coolsculpting is seriously changing people’s lives.
A super safe and simple procedure that uses an applicator on specific problem areas (like your abdomen, arms, thighs or chin), Coolsculpting essentially freezes out fat cells, without damaging your skin or anything else. Fat cells eventually die, meaning the area you have Coolsculpted will actually shrink, and with mind-blowing results!
Approved by Santé Canada, this method does not require any surgery, which is why so many people are now opting for Coolsculpting to eliminate those problem areas that seem to have permanently set up shop. Various scientific studies agree it works, and according to numerous testimonials, people are absolutely loving their results.
Honestly, judging by recent Instagram posts by Kim K and Molly Sims, it’s pretty easy to see why.
And since this revolutionary treatment is non-invasive (so no surgery, no needles and no downtime) with long lasting results and very minimal side effects, you simply walk in, undergo your Coolsculpting session, and resume life instantly. You also don’t have to worry about hiding any scars or marks either.

Over the years Montreal has become a prime filming location for many movies and every year even more studios book areas of our city to bring their movies to life.
So far, this summer alone has seen some pretty big budget productions and things show no sign of slowing down.
That's why we decided to hunt down as many moves that are either currently filming in the city or planning o filming here within the next year.
and we weren't disappointed.
Here are 23 movies that are filming in Montreal this year:
Honestly, Montreal is amazing; and although it's awesome all-year, it gets particularly special in the summer. The perfect combination of good weather, beautiful views, and super fun festivals makes it an ideal spot for anyone to come and spend some time at... And that includes celebrities.
If you're the type of person who does get excited at the prospect of famous people walking the exact same streets that you walk, then have I got some great news for you.
There's an influx of super talented celebrities in Montreal right now, mainly because of films, concerts, and festivals - and, if you're lucky enough, you just might get to spot one this weekend. Maybe chilling at your fave restaurant. Who knows? Anything is possible, friends. Anything.
Nick Kroll is in town for his Just For Laughs Festival play, "Oh, Hello," along with John Mulaney. He was recently spotted at Beautys, and I can't stop torturing myself wondering if he ordered the Beautys Special or not.
Also in town for "Oh, Hello", which runs until July 30th. John Mulaney is one of my fave comedians ever, hands down, so I've spent a few sleepless nights wondering if he's digging Montreal or not.
This super famous comedian is in town for his Just For Laughs special, LOL Live. He's also hosting a pitch panel in the city, cementing his status as an awesome comedian and an awesome person in general, IMO.
In town for Osheaga, Lana Del Rey will be #blessing Montreal with her presence this upcoming weekend. Hopefully she'll go exploring, and we'll have the chance to spot her live.
Aziz is in town for his Just For Laughs show, Master Of None. (Sidenote: My own personal life goal is to meet Aziz Ansari and thank him for changing my whole life with his Netfilx show of the same name).
In town for the Just For Laughs festival in order to introduce an advanced screening of his new movie, Sausage Party, which honestly looks like the most fun you could have with food, ever.
Starring in one of my all-time fave shows (Broad City), Hannibal Buress is in Montreal right now for Just For Laughs show, Hannibal Burress, on July 30.
The super talented JB Smoove, who currently plays a hilarious role in Curb Your Enthusiasm, is in town for the Just For Laughs fest as part of the Mega Stars Of Comedy Gala.
