On Saturday, some people were holding a peaceful protest against horse carriages in Montreal.

Unfortunately the situation did not remain peaceful for very long.

Ah yes, it is that fabulous time of the year when all your relative from out of town visit Montreal. It may not be their first time, but once they drive, or fly, in they always say the same things. "Wow, it's so cold here, can we go get a poutine? Let me try to ask in French!"

This morning I came across a Facebook post by Kate Marie that made me sick to my stomach.

In it, you see man in a wheelchair being searched and yelled at by some police officers.

Well it looks like drivers are losing another little bit of trust and freedom as the city of Montreal is installing 12 new photo radars around the city.

So basically we have 12 new spots where drivers will suddenly have to slow down to fool the camera and then quickly speed back up again to make up for lost time.

Imagine you're strolling down the street heading home when you walk by an alley. You hear a noise so you turn your head and you see some something moving around on the ground. It's probably a cat or maybe a raccoon or something. NOPE - it's a fucking alligator!

Not exactly what you were expecting, but that's exactly what happened to a resident of Tétreaultville in the borough of Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve on Tuesday night. The man immediately called the police and said he saw a large reptile in an alley near Ontario street.

Growing up in Montreal, Mount-royal was always the go-to place when me and my friends had nothing better to do. Whether we hung around beaver lake, hiked through some of the trails or even just sat in a parked car, chain smoking and waiting for the ice cream guy to show up. But while we were hiking through those trails, we often thought to ourselves: "we could camp out here and no one would ever know"

Think about it, the forest is pretty big and you can walk around for awhile without encountering anyone else. If you showed up late at night, headed off into the heavily wooded areas and pitched a tent in a random clearing you could pretty much spend the night there without any problem.

A video from the demonstration that took place on May 1st is making the rounds on the internet. The video shows 3 cops arresting a protester on the corner of Sherbrooke and Hutchison.

According to Radio Canada When the protester resisted the arrest by trowing his hands up and flashing a peace sign, one of the cops punched him in the face 3 times in the face. The other officers picked him up and set him down on the ground and eventually cuffed him.

Montreal's police force aren't known for being super friendly or approachable. Blame metro station debacles, riot police mishaps, and their general tendency to give next to no fucks. To change all that, and establish a better line of connection to the people of Montreal, one police station has created the Coffee With A Cop program, which is exactly what it sounds like, reports The Gazette.

Montreal's police force continue to break our minds with "what the hell could you be thinking" each and every time they're spotted wearing something ridiculous. I mean, leopard print tights was one thing, but pink pants and green high socks, while buying donuts? Really? Unfortunately, really.

If there wasn't a video, I might think it was a joke, but in Montreal, such ridiculous sightings are a reality. I understand this is part of the SPVM's ongoing protest against Bill 3, but wouldn't wearing silly/embarrassing pants like these seriously hinder this cop's effectiveness to uphold the law? I can't imagine a criminal being very intimidated by this pink-green combo.

Get your minds out of the gutter people, this cop is obviously showing this bare-shouldered blonde woman what its like in the front seat of a cop car...while sitting on his lap. Or, you know, they're going at it reverse cowgirl-style. A raunchy of wholesome interpretation is up to you.

In truth, no one really knows that the deal with this incriminating photo is. CJAD reports the city's police are currently looking into the matter. Photoshop can work wonders these days, so it is very possible the photo is a fake.

On March 22nd a member of ACAB Media recorded a very intense exchange between the STM metro po-po, the SPVM, and a group of Montreal citizens.

After a young man didn't pay his $3 fair, the STM quickly apprehended the perpetrator. Montreal's police force showed up too, because 6+ city officials need to be present to take down one lone metro rider.
