The second half of October is supposed to be a lot cooler than what we've seen so far, and this morning we got a big reminder that winter is just around the corner.
This morning environment Canada issued a frost alert!
But don't panic, as of now there is not precipitation in the forecast so it's highly unlikely we'll see any snow falling but you may juts wake up to frosty windshield in the the morning.
I know you feel it too. It's a little darker in the morning, it feels harder to wake up,it's just that time of year again Montreal.
The summer already feels like a distant memory and since the weather is a sensitive topic right now, so I decided to answer the question that's on everyone's mind.
Last night I went out to walk my dog, and like an idiot I didn't think of grabbing a jacket.
After all it's only September 1st, but when I got outside I literally started shivering. It was only 9°C in Montreal last night, and with the wind it felt even colder. Then this morning, when I woke up, it was 7°C ... 7!
But as crappy as that was, at least we didn't get snow like some other parts of Quebec.
Last night there was actual snow falling over the Reserve Faunique des Laurentides, which only a couple hours away from Montreal.
We took a look ahead to see some long term predictions, and it looks like Montreal will be snow-free at least for September, but October will have a few evil snowy surprises in store for us.
If you thought the only thing you had to worry about this weekend was rain, think again.
We've had some pretty good weather so far in October, and I was starting to think it was going to last forever. But unfortunately these last few days have been a wake-up call and whether you like or not, the cold is on its way.
Go ahead, scream a few obscenities, no one will blame you.
We actually predicted this would happen last week, but since there is a rainfall warning currently in effect, we figured the rain would cancel the snow out.
However 2 of the top weather forecasting websites claim that the first snowfall in Montreal will happen this Sunday.
It's beginning to look a lot like shit-mas.
Of course there's no need to panic too much. (But it's totally acceptable to panic a little) The ground isn't frozen yet and the rain is expected to continue through Monday.
So even if we do see some snow, it probably won't stay very long.
Montrealers woke up to a surprise this morning, SNOW! A very much say it ain't snow kinda situation. We all knew it was coming but also kinda hoped it would just not show up at all at this point. We all love to hate snow but at the same time all love to love it as well. It is going to be here to stay soon so might as well get used to it now. Enjoy some photos below that Montrealers took when they stepped out into the world this morning.
